ABOUT ALICIA

I am a New Jersey-based educator, musician, and tour guide and Ecuador found me the way that only a truly extraordinary place can. Not all at once, but slowly, deeply, completely.

Every trip is personally led by me ~ Alicia. Not a stranger. Not a representative. Me. When you travel with Alicia Loves Ecuador, you travel with someone who has fallen completely in love with this country and wants you to feel it too.

It started with one person. Beverly was my very first client — just the two of us. I wanted to show her a country that had moved me in ways I still struggle to fully put into words. She came back transformed. So did I. That was the beginning of everything.

AND...then there were two!

After Beverly came Marcela and Esther, the first time I took a small group. 2 women. Two very different personalities. 1 extraordinary trip!

And Then Came Angela & Dennis!

Angela & Dennis almost didn't come. Angela's family was afraid to let her go, & she worried it would rain the whole time. Every reason not to go seemed valid, but something pulled her forward anyway... and she said yes. On that trip, St. John Bosco appeared three times at the most unexpected moments. The woman who almost stayed home came back to New Jersey completely transformed. One trip. That's all it takes!

Our Patron: St. John Bosco

On Angela's trip, something remarkable happened. St. John Bosco appeared...not once, but twice ; at the most unexpected moments throughout our journey. First at the Basílica del Voto Nacional. Then again at Parroquia María Auxiliadora, a Salesian parish where a choir was singing and holy water was flowing. Angela, who had almost stayed home, saw it as a sign. So did I. We named St. John Bosco the patron saint of Alicia Loves Ecuador. He watches over our travelers.
